About

For the last couple of decades, CT has had a small, but vibrant group of game designers, publishers, and other industry professionals. The New Haven Game Makers Guild grew out of this community, bringing together designers and design groups from throughout the area in an effort to centralize and organize the multitude of rad projects getting worked on around here. We’re based out of Elm City Games in downtown New Haven.

As a group, we currently have more tabletop designers than digital, but we certainly have members doing video games so don’t be shy if you’re working on an app or whatever else.

We have a wide mix of designers, some full time professionals, some serious part-timers, and some total amateurs. We welcome anyone with an interest in design, no matter their level of experience or expertise. The guiding principles are to give more than you take and don’t be a jerk, so long as you can handle that, we’d love to see you!

We organize weekly (Wednesdays 6-10pm) and monthly (first Saturdays 12-10pm) general playtesting sessions along with a variety of other programming, including the yearly Fantasticon.
